Another advantage to using a Pilates exercise ball is that it is a very versatile piece of fitness equipment. It allows you to carry out some very basic movements that can improve your bodies overall condition and which are regularly neglected during our daily routines.

In fact there are some very simple exercises that one can carry out using a Pilates exercise ball that can help to improve your body and also your posture. In this article we take a look at just what some of these simple Pilates ball exercises are.

Exercise 1 – Just by sitting on the ball initially helps to bring your muscles into alignment and so helps to improve your posture. This is because you are required to use all muscles at the same time in order to maintain your balance on the ball.

Exercise 2 – Once you have been able to maintain your balance on the ball now is the time to start bouncing gently up and down on it. Too vigorous and of course balance will be lost and you will find yourself falling off of the ball. This particular exercise is the one designed to help strengthen your back muscles.

Exercise 3 – If you need an exercise to help improve the condition of your abdominal muscles then you will need to lie across the ball, facing down towards the ground. Then very gently you need to roll yourself backwards and forwards on the ball with your arms wrapped around the ball with your elbows horizontally across it.
